Nassal produced the shop fabrication drawings, as well as, fabricated and installed the most significant exhibit hall in the Museum- "The Journey." This immersive, 13,249 s.f walk-through experience allows guests to travel with Lincoln through the emotionally powerful and personal events that shaped his life and the destiny of the United States. As a result of Nassal's fabrication expertise and master craftsmanship, the outcome is a fully immersive and authentic journey through 27 different scenes of Lincoln's life. Self-performed fabrication and installation services included carved stucco, period specific facades, immersive exhibit dioramas, sculptures, FRP, scenic treatments, rockwork, drapery, finish carpentry, railings, and props.
The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum is considered to be the first major Experience Museum. The museum combines priceless historical artifacts with innovative, contemporary storytelling technologies. Visitors are offered an engaging, emotional and educational experience through immersive, "you-are-there" exhibits.
