The Nassal Company was responsible for fabricating and installing the immersive exhibits and environments, animal habitats, interactives, signage, graphics, and the audio-visual systems for the ORI-GEN, Desert Living Center, Trails & Cinema, and the Gardens. All construction was done according to US Green Building Council LEED standards and the project has been submitted for Platinum LEED Status. It is the first museum to be submitted for this Green Building Rating.
The Springs Preserve is a 180-acre eco-island remnant of natural history and habitat, just a few miles west of downtown Las Vegas. The attraction offers a unique cultural experience for everyone. The Preserve offers several different areas. The ORI-GEN is an interactive museum, theater, and photo gallery that conveys the natural and cultural history of Las Vegas through an interpretive story from the past to the present. It also features a zoological component and a 7-acre nature preserve. The Desert Living Center serves as a living exhibit for sustainability principles with ways to protect resources. The Amphitheater is an outdoor venue for concerts and other entertainment. The Gardens offer 8-acres of lush botanical gardens to enjoy. The Trails & Cinema Wetlands lead to the most unique and historic features of this National Historic Site, which recreate the lives of the valley’s first settlers.
