Introduction.

Situated in Cherokee, North Carolina, on the Eastern Cherokee Reservation, Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort boasts 1,108 guest rooms and suites. After its renovation and expansion, the resort was ranked #1 in Best Great Smoky Mountain National Park Hotels by U.S. News. The award-winning expansion and renovation opened in 2012 to rave reviews and continues to be ranked as one of the top Indian gaming casinos in the country.

What we're doing.

Lexington designed and fabricated elements for the rotunda, considered the crown jewel of the expansion. The centerpiece of the rotunda is twin 68-foot waterfalls that cascade from the ceiling to a collection pool in the floor. The synchronized lighting that moves with the videos and music emanates from eight 60-foot-tall tree columns decorating both the first and second floor of the rotunda. Each tree is filled with more than 30,000 colored LED lights that are digitally programmed to create a multitude of programmed color combinations.

How we're doing it.

Lexington collaborated with Turner Construction and the Cuningham Group for The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and Harrah’s Entertainment on this $6 million expansion and renovation of the Great Smoky Mountains Resort. As the design/build fabricator, Lexington partnered with Cuningham Group to provide a complete turnkey solution, from schematic design through shop drawings, fabrication, av and lighting integration, and final installation. Lexington’s knowledge of creating a turn-key system which maximized the owner’s budget and overall delivery schedule allowed Lexington to leverage their expertise on selecting materials, means, and methods for construction given the unique parameters of the project.

Conclusion.

For those traveling through North Carolina, this award-winning Great Smoky Mountains resort is not to be missed. Lexington was happy to lend its expertise to the completion of the expansion and renovation, making the visitor experience so much more exceptional.
