Last February a kindergarten teacher from Ranchito Elementary in Los Angeles asked if we could help design a wind tunnel for their STEM magnet program. The challenge was presented to Julian Korsich, our LA Carpentry Foreman. Without hesitation Julian designed it. On off hours, a small group of employees worked together to build it. Mrs. Gonzales (kindergarten teacher) dropped off the fan. Daniel Sahagun (CNC) cut out the frame pieces with our scraps. Heather Dankowski (Purchaser) found acetate for the cylinder. Terry Lacson (HR Coordinator) bought embroidery hoops to secure the acetate. Julian put it all together and Joaquin Soto (Shipping Foreman) delivered it to the school. This small task was rewarded earlier this month with a warm thank you – A “Thank You” card, a mini felt quilt and 30 hearts with messages of gratitude and praise.
